Learner Journey
The order matters more than the outline.
Sequential paths that take a member from beginner to advanced, where finishing step one leads to step two rather than back to a menu of everything you have ever published.

How a journey is built
Everything available to you.
Structure only where structure helps. Everything below is optional.
structure
Path structure
- Courses, modules, lessons, and topics, using only the depth you need
- Linear paths, branching paths, or a mix of both
- Multiple journeys running in parallel for different tracks
- Prerequisites where order genuinely matters, and nowhere else
What moves them forward
Progression
- Completion of the previous step
- A quiz score above a mark you set
- A level, achievement, or points threshold from GAME
- Coach or faculty sign-off
- A date, for cohort-paced programs
Not just a lesson
What a step can be
- A lesson, video, or document
- A quiz or assessment
- An event to attend or a replay to watch
- A checklist or goal from GAME
- A scorecard entry, so offline work counts as progress
Not one path for everyone
Personalization
- Different journeys by tag, cohort, role, or assessment result
- Optional branches members can choose between
- Skip-ahead for members who demonstrate they are past a step
Where the next step appears
Placement
- On the member dashboard
- Inside the course itself
- On a profile or in the activity feed
- Anywhere a shortcode can go, which is the point
Worked example
A member's first fourteen days
She never has to choose what to do next. That is the whole design.
Journey: Foundations track
Days 1 to 14
Design
You built one path, not a library
Five steps, in order, with two optional branches partway through.
Sequence
Day 1: orientation, then the first lesson
Both short. The first level is reachable in one sitting on purpose.
Sequence
Day 3: step two unlocks on completion, not on the calendar
A member moving fast is not held back, and one moving slowly is not buried.
Practice
Day 6: flash card deck appears alongside module two
Because the lesson was consumed and the material still has to stick.
Prove
Day 11: quiz drawn from a bank, 70 percent to advance
A retake pulls different questions, so passing means knowing it.
Sequence
Day 14: branch point, two tracks offered
She picks. The platform has earned the right to ask by now.

Three things worth knowing.
Note
One visible next step. A journey that shows five options at once is a menu again.
Note
Prerequisites are a cost. Use them where sequence genuinely matters and open everything else.
Note
Design the first week before you build a single lesson. It decides retention more than the content does.
