Surveys

Surveys

Ask the questions you are currently guessing the answers to.

Surveys that uncover what members actually want, correlated into insight that guides content, programming, and engagement decisions rather than sitting in a spreadsheet.

Most platforms build content on a hunch

You decide what to produce next based on what felt popular, what a vocal member asked for, and what you personally find interesting. That works until it does not, and the failure is expensive because content is the most costly thing you make. A survey run to the right segment at the right moment turns that guess into a decision, and correlating the answers against what those members actually do afterwards turns the decision into a pattern you can trust.

Custom implementation today, self-managed tooling coming.

ASSESS is delivered through custom architecture for trusted partners right now. The builders and configuration panels that would make it a self-serve plugin are still being scoped, which is why it carries In scoping rather than Live.

What surveys are good for

How it is designed to work.

Timing matters more than the questions. Ask at the moment the answer is fresh.

Segmentation

Worked example

The survey that changed a content calendar

Ninety seconds of member time, one quarter of production redirected.

Quarterly direction survey

Sent to 1,240 members

Improve

Four questions, sent to active members only

Because lapsed members answer a different question and mixing them muddies both.

Learn

412 responses, segmented by tenure

New members and two-year members want almost opposite things.

Learn

The top request was not on your roadmap

It was third from bottom on your own internal list.

Match

Correlated against completion data

The members asking for it are the ones who finish things, which raises its weight.

Improve

Next quarter rebuilt around it

And you told the 412 that their answers did it, which is why they will answer next time.

Recipes

Three you could build this afternoon.

Read them as when, only if, then. That is the whole grammar of the system.

Ask at the moment, not at the quarter

When

A course or program completes

Only if

Member finished it

Then

Prompt for feedback immediately, because a survey three months later measures memory rather than experience

Segment before you conclude

When

A survey closes

Only if

Responses span tiers and tenures

Then

Break results down by segment first. A blended average usually describes nobody on your platform

Close the loop publicly

When

A survey drives a decision

Only if

The change ships

Then

Tell respondents what their answers changed. It is the single biggest driver of response rate next time

Before you build

Three things worth knowing.

Note

Four questions, ninety seconds. Long surveys get abandoned and the people who finish them are not representative.

Note

Never survey without acting or reporting back. A platform that asks and then does nothing trains members to ignore the next one.

Note

Correlate answers against behavior. What members say they want and what they actually complete are frequently different.
